Firewood Measurements
Stock Sizes
1. Cord
A full cord is the standard unit of measure for firewood and is defined as a neatly stacked pile measuring 4 feet high, 4 feet wide, and 8 feet long, totaling 128 cubic feet.
3. Bundle
Smaller quantities of firewood are often sold in bundles, which typically contain a few pieces of wood, enough for a single fireplace use. Bundles can vary in size. We typically provide bundles of firewood measurement 3 - 6 cubic feet. A bundle is our most commonly provided firewood pile size.
2. Face Cord
Also known as a rick, a face cord is one-third of a full cord, measuring 4 feet high, 8 feet long, but only as deep as the individual logs, usually 16 to 18 inches.
4. Half Cord
As the name suggests, a half cord is half the size of a full cord, measuring 4 feet high, 4 feet wide, and 4 feet long, totaling 64 cubic feet.
